| Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation
For more than 30 years, the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation has nurtured people, ideas, and institutions which transcend self-interest and contribute to a sustainable human society and the environment which shelters it. The mission of the foundation is to support and encourage those educational, cultural, social and environmental values that contribute to making our society more humane and our world more livable. Since 1997 the Foundation has supported the Geraldine R. Dodge Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Institute on Ethnicity, Culture, and the Modern Experience.

Gilder-Lehrman Institute of American History
Founded in 1994, the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History promotes the study and love of American history. The Institute serves teachers, students, scholars, and the general public. It helps create history-centered schools and academic research centers, organizes seminars and enrichment programs for educators, produces print and electronic publications and traveling exhibitions, sponsors lectures by eminent historians, and administers a History Teacher of the Year Award in every state through its partnership with Preserve America. Gilder Lehrman Institute supports the U.S. History Saturday Academy Program at the Institute on Ethnicity, Culture, and the Modern Experience.

Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey
The Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey is an independent endowed grantmaking organization that was created in 1996 with proceeds from the sale of Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. The Foundation is dedicated to continuing the founding health mission through philanthropy. The Foundation's priorities are to advance the healthcare and wellness of vulnerable members of the greater Newark New Jersey area, to ensure access to healthcare and quality of life for all, and attention to at-risk Jewish residents in the MetroWest community of New Jersey. The Foundation has provided support for a variety of public programs by the Institute on Ethnicity, Culture, and the Modern Experience.

Independence Community Foundation
The Independence Community Foundation (ICF) is a private foundation created in 1998 through an endowment from the former Independence Community Bank. ICF focuses on community development, education, culture and the arts, and economic and workforce development issues in the New York metropolitan area. The Foundation's assets are directed at addressing economic and social inequities and creating greater opportunities for educational and cultural enrichment. ICF has provided support for the Heningburg Civic Fellows program at the Institute on Ethnicity, Culture, and the Modern Experience. |

Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation
Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation supports the richness and diversity of the region’s arts resources and promotes wider access to the art and artists of the region, nation and world. The Foundation serves the states and territories of Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, the US Virgin Islands, Virginia, and West Virginia. It was established in 1979 to promote and support multi-state arts programming. The Foundation provided support for an artist-in-residence program at the Institute on Ethnicity, Culture, and the Modern Experience for photographer Bill Gaskins' Cadillac Chronicles project. The Foundation’s PennPAT program has also funded the Ethnic Dance Performance Series at the Institute.

New Jersey Council for the Humanities
The New Jersey Council for the Humanities (NJCH), a nonprofit organization, is a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities. The mission of the NJCH is to develop, support and promote projects that explore and interpret the human experience, foster cross-cultural understanding and engage people in dialogue about matters of individual choice and public responsibility. The Council provides support for the Teachers As Scholars program and the Marion Thompson Wright Lecture Series at the Institute on Ethnicity, Culture, and the Modern Experience. |
New Jersey Historical Commission
The mission of The New Jersey Historical Commission is to enrich the lives of the public by preserving the historical record and advancing interest in and awareness of New Jersey's past. The Commission supports a range of activities, including grants, media projects and publications, public programs and curriculum support to teachers and schools. In 1981, Giles R. Wright of the New Jersey Historical Commission and Dr. Clement Price, director of the Institute on Ethnicity, Culture, and the Modern Experience founded the Marion Thompson Wright Lecture Series, one of the nation’s foremost scholarly programs devoted to the advancement of the historical literacy of a local community.

The Prudential Foundation is an independent nonprofit grant-making organization funded by Prudential, providing support to innovative direct-service programs that address the needs of our communities in three areas: Ready to Learn, Ready to Work, Ready to Live. The Foundation provided support to the Institute on Ethnicity, Culture, and the Modern Experience for its program commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Newark disorders, "Newark's Summer of Discontent: A City-wide Remembrance and Reflection on 1967."

In 2003, PSEG celebrated its 100th anniversary. Victoria Foundation
Victoria Foundation is a private grant making institution, which was founded in 1924. Since the early 1960’s the Foundation’s trustees have targeted giving to programs that impact the cycle of poverty in Newark, New Jersey, and to protect the environment throughout the state of New Jersey. Within Newark, funded projects address K-12 education reform, neighborhood revitalization, and strengthening youth and families. The Foundation has provided support for the Heningburg Civic Fellows program at the Institute on Ethnicity, Culture, and the Modern Experience.
