Laura Troiano joined the Institute on Ethnicity, Culture, and the Modern Experience at Rutgers-Newark as the assistant program coordinator in March of 2008. She received her Bachelor’s degree in History and Anthropology from Hunter College, CUNY and her Master’s degree in History from Rutgers University, Newark campus. Her research interests include narrative and public history and methodology and theory. Her thesis, entitled "Slippery When Wet," focused on the place of the historian in historical works while discussing bootlegging in Newark. She has taught for the Rutgers Future Scholars Program and is an adjunct professor at the College of Staten Island, CUNY.
